Cooperation between Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security and the US’slaw enforcement agencies has seen encouraging developments, affirmed anarticle about Public Security Minister Tran Dai Quang’s recent workingvisit to the US posted on the Euro Presse Image’s website on March 24.
The article highlighted both sides’ agreement tomaintain existing cooperation mechanisms and look forward to developing abilateral legal framework dealing with safeguarding security and socialorder through the creation of such agreements as the one on extraditionand transfer of sentenced persons, a mutual legal assistance agreement,and the other on the combat against money laundering.
Vietnam and the US agreed to intensify the sharing of information andexperience in preventing crimes and investigating specific cases,coordinate to ensure safety for each country’s citizens and enterprisesin the other, and collaborate in staff training.
