Vietnam trounce Singapore in second match of AFF Women's Champs

Hanoi (VNA) —Vietnamese women’s football team put ten goals past Singapore in the secondmatch of the group round of the 2018 AFF Women’s Championship in Indonesia.
Vietnam controlled the match right from the beginning and scored the first goalin the 12th minute through Thu Hang, which was followed by the goal scored byHoang Thi Lan, two from Tuyet Dung and one by Thuy Hang to go in at the breakfive goals to the good.
In the second half of the match, Vietnam slowed down their strategy; but stillmanaged to hit another five.
Vietnam will face the Philippines on July 7.
In group A, Thailand and Australia also had easy win over their counterparts,defeating Cambodia 11-0 and Timor Leste 9-0 respectively on July 4. In theopening match, Vietnam defeated host Indonesia 6-0.
The 2018 AFF Women's Championship is the 9th edition of the AFF Women's Championship, an international women's football tournament organised by the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF). The tournament is being hosted by Indonesia from June 30 to July 13.
Vietnam is placed in Group B, which also includes Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore and host Indonesia. Meanwhile, Group A comprises Thailand, Australia U20, Malaysia, Cambodia and Timor Leste.-VNA
The Vietnamese have a proud record in the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Women’s Championship, having been crowned regional champions in 2006 and 2012, while their most recent showing, in 2016, saw them finish as runners-up after losing to Thailand on penalties in the final.
Vietnam lost to Thailand 2-3 in the penalty shootout, following a goalless draw in the official time to rank fourth in the AFC Women’s Futsal Championship 2018 on May 12 in Bangkok.

The ambassador noted that among the 300,000 Vietnamese residing in the RoK, around 3,000 are living in Pyeongtaek and contributing actively to the local economy. Ho expressed his hope that the local authorities will continue support the overseas Vietnamese community in the city.
This is the first time since the adoption of the Convention that a country has served two consecutive terms on the Committee.
