Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam pursues a consistentpolicy of treating all investors, both domestic and foreign ones, equally,President Tran Dai Quang told Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem – Group Chairman and CEOof the UAE’s DP World, on December 13.
During the meeting at the Presidential Palace inHanoi, he renewed Vietnam’s pledge to create the best possible conditions forforeign enterprises to do business in the country.
He appreciated efforts by DP World, whichspecialises in marine terminal and services and infrastructure investment, topromote its projects in Vietnam, including major ones on transport and realestate like the Saigon Premier Container Terminal (SPCT) in Ho Chi Minh Cityand Halong Star Hotel in Quang Ninh province.
Vietnam’s consistent viewpoint is consideringforeign investors’ success as its own, he reiterated, noting that localauthorised agencies are actively seeking solutions to problems facing the SPCTproject.
The country will continue overhauling legalframework and relevant mechanisms to provide the most favourable environmentfor investors to contribute to its development, he added.
Meanwhile, Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem noted theUAE Government always highly values the friendship with Vietnam and encouragesUAE businesses to invest in the Southeast Asian nation.
After eight years of operating in Vietnam, DPWorld has realised the country’s sustainable development potential, and that’swhy it is expanding investment here, he said. He elaborated that aside fromseaport projects, the firm is considering the possibility of pouring money intransport, industrial park and free trade area projects.
He also raised proposals pertaining to DPWorld’s activities in Vietnam such as the issues of shipping lanes and portservice fees.-VNA
Dubai Port World (DP World) will continue developing the Saigon Premier Container Terminal Port (SPCT) in Ho Chi Minh City, said Rashid Abdulla, Senior Vice President of Asia Pacific DP World.
