Vietnam treasures friendship with Cambodia: Party official

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam always attaches much importance to thetraditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Cambodia, said Politburo member Tran Quoc Vuong, who isalso permanent Secretary of the Party Central Committee.
Receiving Second Vice President of the Cambodian National Assembly KhuonSudary in Hanoi on March 22, Vuong expressed his delight at the sound developmentof the bilateral relations which have been made in a practical and effectivemanner in the past time.
Hecongratulated Cambodia on its socio-economic revival, expressing his hope thatunder the reign of King Norodom Sihamoni and the leadership of the NA andGovernment, the people of the country will reap more achievements in thenational construction and development.
Khuon Sudary, for her part, informedthe Vietnamese Party official of the outcomes of her talks with representativesof the Vietnamese National Assembly, and spoke highly of the state visit toCambodia by Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong on February25-26.
She affirmed that Cambodia will continue its tight coordination with Vietnam tocarry out the agreements and joint statements signed between the high-ranking leadersof the two Parties and States.
She took the occasion to thank the Vietnamese Party, Government and people fortheir support for Cambodia against the Khmer Rouge genocidal regime as well asin its national construction and protection cause.-VNA
