Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam attaches importance to its friendship andcooperation with China, a Vietnamese officer has said.
The statement was made by Lieut. Gen. TranQuang Phuong, deputy head of the General Department of Politics under theVietnam People’s Army, when receiving a delegation from the Institute ofPolitics under the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) National DefenceUniversity led by deputy head of the institute Col. Bu Duanhua in Hanoi on June17.
Phuong said that the two countries’ leadershave agreed to strengthen bilateral relations, including defence ties, duringtheir meetings.
The defence ties have enjoyed positivedevelopment, reflected through regular meetings between high-ranking militaryleaders, he added.
Bu Duanhua said that the recent visit byChinese Defence Minister Wei Fenghe has created a firm foundation for bilateraldefence cooperation.
He expressed his belief that the defencecollaboration will develop further in the time ahead.-VNA
