Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam’s nationalmen’s football team still hold the No 1 spot in the Southeast Asianregion, according to FIFA’s January ranking release.
Vietnam are now world No 112, with 298 points to lead the region, followed bythe Philippines, world No 123 and Thailand, world No 129.
Asia’s top five teams are Iran, world No 34, Australia (No 36), Japan (No 56), theRepublic of Korea (No 59) and Saudi Arabia (No 65). Vietnam are in 16th place.
The world’s top 10 remained unchanged. Germany sat atop the worldrankings, followed by Brazil and Portugal.-VNA

The U23 competition will run from June 16 to 22, followed by the U17 event from June 23 to 28, while athletes competing in the U23 category will undergo weight and skill checks ahead of the matches starting June 18, while similar checks for U17 athletes will take place before June 23.
Vietnam continues to sit just behind continental powerhouses Japan, the Republic of Korea, Australia, China, and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).
