As part of her official visit to Vietnam and co-chairing of the 4th Vietnam–Thailand Joint Cabinet Meeting, Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra was hosted by Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at a dinner in Hanoi on the evening of May 15, 2025. The two leaders also toured a photo exhibition and a display of traditional handicrafts that reflect the rich cultural identity of Vietnam.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Phan Chi Thanh on December 4 worked with authorities of the province of Saraburi to discuss measures to step up cooperation between localities of the two countries in investment, trade, economy, tourism, culture and people-to-people exchanges.

The outgoing Ambassador of Thailand to Vietnam, Manopchai Vongphakdi, has been honoured with a “For Peace and Friendship among Nations” insignia by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) and the Thai Ministry of Commerce jointly organised a workshop to promote trade and investment cooperation between Vietnam and Thailand in Hanoi on May 23.

Despite ups and down, the relationship between Vietnam and Thailand has progressed over the past 40 years with strongly developing people-to-people exchanges.
