Hanoi (VNA) – ꦿThe Party, State, Government and people of Vietnam take Japan as one ofthe partners of top importance which enjoys a high trust in the country’s foreignpolicy, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh told visiting Japanese Defence MinisterKishi Nobuo in Hanoi on September 12.

The PM also affirmed tofacilitate the development of the bilateral national defence cooperation, andsaid Vietnam welcomes Japan’s active contributions to and support its greaterrole in maintaining peace, stability and development in the region and theworld as a whole. He thanked Japan forproviding Vietnam with over 3 million doses of vaccines against the COVID-19pandemic and facilitating Vietnamese working and living in Japan, and asked thecountry to help Vietnam with vaccines. PM Chinh asked theJapanese side to continue providing Vietnam with new ODA projects, and pledged Vietnamwill continue creating a transparent and favourable environment for investmentby foreign countries, including Japanese ones.

The Japanese ministerspoke highly of the Vietnam Government’s efforts in the fight against thepandemic and affirmed he will ask relevant authorities to continue the vaccineassistance to Vietnam.
ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ Japan will continuecooperating with Vietnam in the field of Vietnam’s priority, he said.

The two spoke highly ofthe outcomes of the cooperation between the two countries in various fields andaffirmed to continue pushing the development of the intensive and extensivestrategic partnership between the two countries, thus helping ensure peace,stability and development in the region and the world over. They exchanged ideas oninternational and regional issues. On those on the sea, including the East Seaand the East China Sea, PM Chinh affirmed Vietnam’s viewpoint of maintaining peace,stability, security, safety and freedom of navigation and aviation, settlingdisputes and differences in the sea by peaceful measures on the basis ofrespect to international law, including the United Nations Convention on theLaw of the Sea in 1982. Vietnam supported the processof peace and denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsular, while the Japanese sideaffirmed support to ASEAN efforts on the issue of Myanmar./.
