Vietnam steps up cooperation with Brazil's Goias state

Buenos Aires (VNA) – Vietnamese Ambassador to Brazil Bui Van Nghi has paid a trip to Goias state at the invitation of president of the federation of commerce, service and tourism of Goias (FECOMERCIO-GO) Marcelo Baiocchi Carneiro.
At a working session with ambassadors, chargé d'affaires and trade attachés from 20 countries, Vice Governor of Goias state Daniel Elias Carvalho Vilela spoke highly of their contributions to expanding cooperation with the Brazilian locality while affirming that he will make efforts to strengthen the relations across politics, economy, trade and cultural exchanges with the nations.
Highlighting the political, trade and cultural ties between Vietnam and Brazil, the Vietnamese diplomat said an array of activities have been held so far this year to mark the 35th founding anniversary of diplomatic relations, including vibrant delegation exchanges.
Nghi also attended the opening ceremony of the international booths at the second Fecomércio trade fair that drew the participation of more than 50 Brazilian firms operating in the fields of agriculture, real estate and technology.
During his two-day stay, Nghi and representatives of Canada, Trinidad and Tobago, China and Kenya had a meeting with students from the National Business Learning Service (SENAC) and the centre for citizen education (SESC), discussing global issues. He highlighted the Vietnamese Party and Government’s initiatives to handle challenges related to climate change.
On the occasion, the Legislative Assembly of Goias presented Pedro Ludovico Teixeira orders to the ambassadors in recognition of their contributions to fostering cooperation for the state’s development.
💙 Last year, trade revenue between Vietnam and Goias was around 377 million USD, or 5.3% of the two nations’ trade turnover of 7.11 billion USD. Vietnam spent 355 million USD on importing goods from Goias, mainly agricultural products such as corn, soya bean and cotton./.
A delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), led by Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member and Secretary of the Party Central Committee, paid a working visit to Brazil from August 26 to 27, aiming at fostering and expanding relations with political parties in the South American country as well as promoting the comprehensive partnership between the two countries.
