Vietnam, Singapore to foster people-to-people exchange
The Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) and the People’s Association (PA) of Singapore have agreed to bolster people-to-people and cultural exchanges to help strengthen the two countries’ friendship.

Singapore (VNA) – The Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF)and the People’s Association (PA) of Singapore have agreed to bolsterpeople-to-people and cultural exchanges to help strengthen the two countries’friendship.
The two sides reached the consensus during aworking session that forms part of a high-ranking VFF delegation’s workingvisit to Singapore from May 7 to 11.
Vice President and Secretary General of the VFFCentral Committee Hau A Lenh spoke highly of the PA’s role as a bridge for the Government and people.
He noted the VFF values its cooperation with thePA, adding that the two organisations share many similarities in theiroperations and goals which include improving people’s living standards.
The official asked the PA to continue helpingenhance the cooperation between Singaporean agencies and businesses and Vietnamin all spheres, especially defence, security, economy, trade, investment, andeducation-training. He also called for more coordination to organise exchangesand cooperation activities within the framework of ASEAN and other multilateralforums.
The over 12,000 Vietnamese people in Singaporehave greatly contributed to local society and the two countries’ relations.Meanwhile, Vietnam has also become increasingly attractive to Singaporeaninvestors.
Lenh asked the PA to help promote the provisionof favourable conditions for the Vietnamese community in the country, addingthat Vietnam will also ensure optimal conditions for Singaporean businesses’activities.
For his part, PA Chief Executive DirectorDesmond Tan applauded the two organisations’ cooperation, saying that cultureand arts are the most effective way to boost mutual understanding between thetwo peoples.
As culture is an important cooperation aspect,the two sides will increase sending arts troupes to each other’s festivals,including the Hue Festival of Vietnam or the Chingay Festival of Singapore, henoted.
At the session, the two sides agreed to organiseannual delegation exchanges so as to share experience, step up cooperation intraining community workers, and increase people-to-people exchanges, thus enhancingthe countries’ friendship.
As part of the visit, the VFF delegation alsopaid a courtesy call to Sam Tan, Minister of State for Singapore’s Ministry ofForeign Affairs and Ministry of Social and Family Development. They alsovisited the National Community Leadership Institute and outstanding communityclubs of Singapore.-VNA
The Vietnam – Singapore Cooperation Centre was inaugurated in Hanoi on March 23 morning, in the witness of visiting Singaporean Deputy Prime Minister and Co-ordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean and Minister of Science and Technology Chu Ngoc Anh.

NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man stressed the need to accelerate the application of artificial intelligence and smart teaching equipment, innovate teaching and assessment methods, and further improve the quality of formal education.
He also pledged that the NA will promote its ongoing supervision, making sure that every promise must lead to results, and every commitment must bring about real changes.
Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien welcomed the proposals put forward by the US side and reiterated Vietnam’s request for consideration of key areas of interest, including reciprocal tariff policies and access for Vietnamese key export products to the US market.
Deputy PM Le Thanh Long proposed countries promote shared values, including building trust, sincerity, and solidarity among nations and peoples; fostering cooperation spirit and responsible behaviour as well as upholding international law and the UN Charter; and placing people at the centre and as the goal, the key player, and the driving force of all policies.
The show, together with a grand parade to be held silmutaneously at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi, will celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, the National Day, and the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA).
In particular, in April 2023, the two sides successfully carried out a joint operation that dismantled a major organised, transnational drug trafficking ring involving both Vietnamese and Cambodian suspects.
The Vietnamese Embassy in Israel is closely coordinating with relevant local agencies to stay informed and provide the utmost support possible for Vietnamese nationals.
