Vietnam-Singapore business forum to bolster trade

More than 100 representatives from governmental agencies, enterprises and organisations will attend the 2014 Vietnam-Singapore Business Forum (VSBF 2014), which is expected to promote economic cooperation between the two countries.
More than 100 representatives from governmental agencies, enterprisesand organisations will attend the 2014 Vietnam-Singapore Business Forum(VSBF 2014), which is expected to promote economic cooperation betweenthe two countries.

Hosted by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce andIndustry (VCCI) in Ho Chi Minh City from June 4-6, the event willprovide a business platform for enterprises from both countries toexplore cooperation opportunities, particularly in the context of astrategic partner agreement adopted by the two countries in Septemberlast year.

It will also be a good chance for attendees to beupdated on trade and investment policies of the two governments, thushelping them make appropriate business strategies in the future.

Duringthe event, participants will focus their discussion on how to fosterpartnership between the two sides in the fields of financial services,agriculture and aquaculture production, tourism and hospitality, realestate and environment management for sustainable business development.

Two-way trade between Vietnam and Singapore in the first twomonths of this year enjoyed a year-on-year increase of 20 percent,reaching 2.2 billion USD.

Singapore is currently the third largest foreign investor in Vietnam with 1,258 valid projects worth more than 30 billion USD.-VNA
