Vietnam and Singapore will continue joint anti-corruption effortsthrough training courses, seminars and high-level exchanges.
The consensus was reached by Government Inspector General Huynh PhongTranh and Director of the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau ofSingapore Wong Hong Kuan during their talks in Hanoi on July 21.
Tranh briefed his host on Vietnam’s counter-corruption achievements,including the approval of the United Nations Convention againstCorruption, the promulgation of a national strategy for the endeavouruntil 2020 and a raft of relevant legal documents to be fine-tuned.
Legal regulations against corruption have been continuallydisseminated to the public while State organisations are working in amore open and transparent fashion, he said.
WongHong Kuan said Singapore has been among the top 10 least corruptcountries since 2011, mainly based on a set of appropriate laws, anindependent judicial system, competent law enforcement agencies and aresponsible public administration.
Politicaldetermination of the Singaporean government and transparency in lawenforcement has drawn more foreign investors to Singapore, he added.
Both sides expressed their satisfaction with thenations’ effective bilateral coordination, including regular liaisons atregional and global forums.-VNA
