Hanoi (VNA)🎐 – Vietnam spotlighted its most dynamic young talents at the 2024 Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces Award ceremony in Hanoi on March 23, an event attended by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and co-hosted by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) Central Committee, the Vietnam Young Talent Support Fund, and the Vietnam Television.

Under the theme “Glorious Mission,” the awards honoured extraordinary individuals whose achievements are propelling Vietnam onto the world stage and inspiring a new generation. Among the standouts were Nguyen Tien Hung and Than The Cong, gold medalists at the international chemistry and physics Olympiads, and shooter Trinh Thu Vinh, who claimed gold at the Asian Shooting Championship and notched a fourth-place finish in the 10m air pistol event at the Paris 2024 Olympics, alongside a fifth-place ranking at the World Shooting Championship. In science and technology, Captain Hoang Khac Khieu has garnered international acclaim with technological innovations that generate hundreds of billions of VND in revenue. Meanwhile, Dr. Pham Huy Hieu and Dr. Nguyen Viet Huong have further solidified Vietnam's scientific reputation with their international patents and dozens of research publications in top journals.
Cultural and community contributions also took centre stage. Singer Soobin Hoang Son was lauded for revitalising Vietnamese folk music, and Phung Quang Trung’s Skyline team was recognised for restoring 6,000 photos of fallen national heroes. Each recipient of the Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces Award received a certificate of merit from the HCYU Central Committee, an insignia, and a cash prize worth 50 million VND (2,000 USD), while eight promising young faces were awarded 20 million VND each for their significant contributions to society. Post-ceremony, they will engage in a series of meaningful activities, including paying tribute at the Monument to Heroic Martyrs, offering incense to President Ho Chi Minh, visiting the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, and attending the "Ben Dam Me" (Sustained Passion) award ceremony. On March 24, they will also join PM Chinh for a dialogue themed "Vietnamese youth pioneer in science-technology, innovation, and digital transformation". The Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces Award, an annual HCYU honour since 1995, recognises those under 35 excelling in fields like academics, research, production, entrepreneurship, defence, security, sports, social work, arts, and administration. Marking the HCYU’s March 26 founding anniversary, it has celebrated 290 Outstanding and 285 Promising Young Faces over the past 29 years, many of whom have gone on to become prominent leaders, successful entrepreneurs, and exemplary citizens driving Vietnam's progress and inspiring future generations.
