Werner Kossmann, RESP technical advisor said the project’sgoal is to make it easier and less risky for investors to invest in thebiomass energy sector in Vietnam , thus contributing to realisingthe target set forth in the National Power Development Plan No 7 (NPDP7) on power generation from biomass sources.

Earlier, the PrimeMinister issued Decision 24/2014/ND-CP, specifying support mechanisms todevelop biomass power projects in Vietnam .

Accordingly, biomass power projects can enjoy preferential treatments in terms ofinvestment capital, investment credit, export credit and import taxexemption for materials and other goods that make fixed assets for theprojects.
