Vietnam, Russia boost tourism cooperation

A memorandum of understanding on tourism cooperation for the 2019-2024 period has been signed between the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Federal Agency for Tourism (Rosturizm) of Russia.

Hanoi (VNA) - A memorandum of understanding on tourism cooperation for the2019-2024 period has been signed between the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture,Sports and Tourism and the Federal Agency for Tourism (Rosturizm)of Russia.

Under the MoU, the two sides will coordinate to build and deploy joint tourismcooperation programmes between the two countries.

They will exchange delegations of national tourism agencies, investors, travelfirms and media agencies.

The two sides will also support each other in issues related to administrativeprocedures, providing information and organising tourism promotion activitiesin the two countries.

The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism(VNAT), Vietnam Airlines and several local tour and hotel operators took partin the 2019 Moscow International Travel & Tourism Exhibition (MITT), whichtook place in the Russian capital from March 12 to 14.

According to the VNAT, the number of Russian tourist arrivals in Vietnam growsby 30 percent annually on average, with the total number of arrivals expectedto reach 1 million by 2020. 

In 2018, 600,000 Russian people visited Vietnam,raking 6th among all countries in terms of visitor numbers.-VNA
