Vietnam ready to share experience with Ivory Coast: Deputy PM

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam iswilling to share its experience with Ivory Coast in many fields, particularlythe building of development strategies, e-government, digital economy andhi-tech agriculture, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam has said.

The leader made the statement inHanoi on May 31 while Minister and Secretary General of the presidency PatrickAchi and a high-ranking delegation of Ivory Coast, who are visiting Vietnam.

At the meeting, Dam spoke highly ofthe traditional partnership between the two nations, as well as support andsentiments of people of the African country towards Vietnam over the time.

Since Vietnam and Ivory Coast set updiplomatic ties in 1975, the countries have joined hands in variousmultilateral forums, he noted. With two-way trade reaching about 1 billion USDin 2018, Ivory Coast is Vietnam’s second largest trade partner in Africa atpresent.

The countries need to determinefields of mutual concern, such as human resources, digital economy and economicstructure transition, the Deputy PM said.

Dam underlined the establishment ofcooperation mechanisms at governmental and ministry levels to strengthen thebilateral cooperation and friendship, benefitting firms and people of the twocountries.

In reply, Achi said during the visit,his delegation had working sessions with leaders of the Government Office, theMinistry of Information and Communications and the Ministry of Agriculture andRural Development to discuss the implementation of e-government and digitaleconomy.

The delegation also made fact-findingtrips to northern Quang Ninh province, along with Can Tho city and Ho Chi MinhCity in the south, he noted.

Achi expressed his hope to learnexperience from Vietnam’s education development, especially high schooleducation. -VNA
