Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam resolutely protests against China’srecent moves in Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelago which violate Vietnam’ssovereignty over Hoang Sa and complicate the situation in the East Sea.

Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang made the statement onApril 29, in response to the media’s questions regarding China’s organization ofthe 5th Sinan yacht race in Vietnam’s Hoang Sa archipelago and establishmentof an office of the Hainan entry-exit inspection and quarantine bureau in PhuLam island in Hoang Sa.

The spokesperson emphasized that Vietnam has sufficient legal ground andhistorical evidence to prove its sovereignty over Hoang Sa and Truong Sa(Spratly) archipelagoes.

“Vietnam demands that China not to make similar moves,” she said.-VNA
