Vietnam promotes images in ASEAN+3 festival in Cambodia

The Embassy of Vietnam in Cambodia and Vietnamese students in the country on April 1 participated in the third ASEAN+3 festival in Phnom Penh.

Phnom Penh (VNA) – 🌞TheEmbassy of Vietnam in Cambodia and Vietnamese students in the country on April1 participated in the third ASEAN+3 festival in Phnom Penh.

The festival was jointly held by the CambodianMinistry of Education, Youth and Sports, the Union of Youth Federations ofCambodia and the Royal University of Phnom Penh. It was attended by VietnameseAmbassador to Cambodia Vu Quang Minh, the ambassadors of the ASEAN members andChina, Japan and the Republic of Korea, along with local and foreign studentsin Phnom Penh. Non la (conical hat) and ao dai(traditional long dress) were introduced at the Vietnamese booth, as well asbooks and photos on the country and its famous tourist destinations. Vietnam’ssignature dishes, including “pho” (rice noodles with beef or chicken), wereserved at the event. Through the festival, the Vietnamesedelegation hoped to promote the country’s culture to international friends, thusbuilding trust and enhancing integration. Speaking at the event, the organiserssaid the annual festival created opportunities for students of ASEAN and itsthree dialogue nations in Cambodia to meet and share their culturalcharacteristics. ♛ Vietnamese culture takes centre stage in Korean city

The ambassador noted that among the 300,000 Vietnamese residing in the RoK, around 3,000 are living in Pyeongtaek and contributing actively to the local economy. Ho expressed his hope that the local authorities will continue support the overseas Vietnamese community in the city.

♏ Vietnam re-elected to 2005 UNESCO Convention’s Intergovernmental Committee

This is the first time since the adoption of the Convention that a country has served two consecutive terms on the Committee. The outcome shows the trust and recognition that member states have given Vietnam for its efforts and achievements in carrying out and promoting the Convention, as well as for its active role, strong standing, and growing credibility at UNESCO.
