Vietnam police team claims ASEAN Police Football title

Hanoi (VNA) 𒉰– Vietnam People’s Police Team II secured a convincing 4-0 victory over Cambodia in the final of the ASEAN Police Football Open 2025 held at Hang Day Stadium in Hanoi on July 15.

The Vietnamese team delivered a dominant performance, opening the scoring early through Nguyen Nhu Tuan in the fifth minute. Tran Duc Nam doubled the lead in the 32nd minute, with Vu Manh Duy adding a third in the 68th and Nguyen Duc Phu capping off the victory in the 80th minute, sealing a comprehensive win for the hosts. The tournament, held from July 7 to 15 in Hanoi and its neighbouring province Hung Yen, brought together police teams from ASEAN countries and Australia to promote solidarity, sportsmanship, and regional cooperation.
At the closing ceremony, attended by senior officials including Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, the champions received the trophy and a 30,000 USD prize. Runner-up Cambodia earned 15,000 USD, while Thailand and Timor Leste shared the third place with 5,000 USD each.
Vietnam’s Tran Duc Nam was awarded both the tournament’s top scorer with eight goals and the Best Player title. Thai goalkeeper Nattawoot Saengdara received the Best Goalkeeper award, while Laos was honoured with the Fair Play award./.
