Vietnam participates in International Association of Prosecutors’s conference in Hong Kong
A delegation from the Supreme People’s Procuracy of Vietnam led by Deputy Prosecutor General Nguyen Duy Giang took part in the 11th Asia-Pacific Regional Conference of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP) in Hong Kong, China.

Hong Kong (VNA) – A delegation from the Supreme People’s Procuracy of Vietnam led by Deputy Prosecutor General Nguyen Duy Giang took part in the 11th Asia-Pacific Regional Conference of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP) in Hong Kong, China.
Taking place on November 28 and 29, this year’s conference, themed “Effective Prosecution Service in the Technological Age”, brought together approximately 140 participants from 30 countries and territories.
During a special plenary session on enhancing international cooperation through mutual legal assistance in criminal matters and addressing emerging challenges, Giang highlighted the role of his office, acknowledged the valuable support provided by prosecutorial bodies in handling mutual legal assistance requests from Vietnam, and proposed measures to enhance the effectiveness of the activity in combating transnational organised crimes and cybercrimes.
On the sidelines, he held talks with Paul Lam Ting-kwok, Secretary for Justice of Hong Kong, who invited the Vietnamese delegation to the conference.
⛎ Both sides agreed to boost the negotiations of a mutual legal assistance agreement in criminal matters between Vietnam and Hong Kong, aiming to bolster the fight against cross-border and transnational crimes, cybercrimes, and financial crimes. They said their agencies will step up cooperation in exchanging expertise and training personnel./.
Vietnam and Singapore signed the Treaty on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters at the headquarters of the Singapore Ministry of Law on October 28.
National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue has lauded the performance of the people’s procuracy sector in 2023, saying it has synchronously deployed many solutions, performed well the proposed tasks, achieved and exceeded many targets and requirements set by the Party, State and National Assembly.

Under the official dispatch signed on June 20, ministers, heads of ministerial-level agencies, and chairpersons of provincial and municipal People’s Committees are requested to concentrate efforts on implementing core measures to ensure the smooth operations of the new administrative framework.

Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien welcomed the proposals put forward by the US side and reiterated Vietnam’s request for consideration of key areas of interest, including reciprocal tariff policies and access for Vietnamese key export products to the US market.
Deputy PM Le Thanh Long proposed countries promote shared values, including building trust, sincerity, and solidarity among nations and peoples; fostering cooperation spirit and responsible behaviour as well as upholding international law and the UN Charter; and placing people at the centre and as the goal, the key player, and the driving force of all policies.
The show, together with a grand parade to be held silmutaneously at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi, will celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, the National Day, and the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA).
In particular, in April 2023, the two sides successfully carried out a joint operation that dismantled a major organised, transnational drug trafficking ring involving both Vietnamese and Cambodian suspects.
