Vietnam officials attend Malaysian ruling party’s congress
A delegation from the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) is in Malaysia to attend the 71st annual congress of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) Party in Kuala Lumpur from December 5-8.

Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – Adelegation from the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) is in Malaysia to attend the71st annual congress of the UnitedMalays National Organisation (UMNO) Party inKuala Lumpur from December 5-8.
The congress gathered over 5,800 delegates representing 3.2 million UMNO members, along with representatives from17 political parties from 14 countries.
The Vietnamese delegation is led by NguyenVan Hung, a member of the CPV Central Committeeand Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee.
In his speech at the opening session, UMNOleader and Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak highlighted the rulingparty’s great role and contributions to the country’s development. He alsoreaffirmed maintaining the policies related to national reconciliation, socialsecurity, self-reliance, and pledged to promote the role of the Islamiccommunity in national unity.
During their stay, the Vietnamese delegates paid a courtesy call to PM NajibRazak and had a meeting with UMNO General Secretary Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor,during which the Malaysian side congratulated Vietnam on the successful hostingof the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week 2017, and expressed their deep impression ofVietnam’s great achievements.
They highly evaluated the friendship and cooperation between the two parties andStates, expressing the hope that these ties will be stronger in the future,contributing to fostering the Vietnam-Malaysia multi-faceted relations.
The Vietnamese guests spoke highly of Malaysia’s achievements in nationalconstruction and development under the leadership of the UMNO, and wished theparty a victory in the upcoming general election.
On the sidelines of the congress, the Vietnamese delegation also met andexchanged views on issues of common concern with other internationaldelegations.-VNA
The United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) Party will make tireless efforts to consolidate and further develop the traditional solidarity and friendship between the Malaysian and Vietnamese people as well as its relations with the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV).

Cheng stressed that this is third time PM Chinh has attended the meeting and he is among the few senior government officials participating in this year's event, which is considered as a rare and commendable gesture.
The fact that the Vietnamese PM has been invited to attend and speak at this important event for three consecutive years reflects the WEF as well as the international business community's recognition and high regard for Vietnam's position, role, and contributions to global and regional economic growth.
This new era marks a crucial phase in which the country must strive with determination to fulfil its strategic objectives, achieving breakthrough development at new levels of sophistication, quality, and global standing, laying the foundation for further growth. Era after era forms a continuous history of development, ascending steadily from one level to the next.
The resolution on such mechanisms aims to serve as a legal basis for opportunely dealing with difficulties and hindrances caused by legal regulations in important, priority, and urgent areas that require immediate settlement so as to unlock resources, facilitate economic development, and turn legislation into a competitive edge.
