Beijing (VNA) – The Vietnam News Agency (VNA) attendedthe ASEAN Media Partners Forum hosted by the China Media Group (CMG) in Beijingon July 14.
As part of its attendance, the VNA signed a memorandum ofunderstanding on bilateral information cooperation with CMG’s video news agencyCCTVPLUS.
Besides the VNA, the Nhan Dan Newspaper, the VietnamTelevision, and Radio The Voice of Vietnam also sent their delegations to theevent.
Themed ‘Media Cooperation and Regional Development’, the forum aimed atboosting solidarity and collaboration between the CMG and its ASEAN partners inthe post-COVID-19 era and spotlighting the importance of the mainstreamcommunications in cultural exchange development and for a more suitableinternational order.

Participants discussed the role of communications and mediapartnerships between China and ASEAN in regional development in the context of seriousimpacts of the pandemic taking place globally.
In his recorded speech sent to the forum, Vietnamese Ambassadorto China Pham Sao Mai congratulated achievements obtained from the cooperationbetween ASEAN and China, and expressed his wish to see further contributionsfrom the press to such ties in the future.
The forum issued a joint statement proposing theestablishment of an ASEAN media partnership mechanism./.
The Vietnam News Agency (VNA) is joining 46 news agencies worldwide at an international photojournalism exhibition on COVID-19, which opened at the National Museum of Korean Contemporary History in Seoul on November 24.
