They pledged to maintain annual exchanges ofreporters and continue to support each other at regional and internationalpress forums participated by both sides, particularly within the framework ofthe Organisation of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA).
Speaking at the talks in Hanoi, VNA GeneralDirector Nguyen Duc Loi noted the agencies’ implementation of the 2001 protocolon specialised cooperation, which, as he said, has yet tapped bilateralcooperation potential, urging the two sides to strengthen their ties in thetime ahead.
Regarding APEC Vietnam 2017, he said the VNA isready to provide information about this event for Montsame, and it hopes thatthe Mongolian news agency will step up the promotion of this event on itscommunication channels.
Congratulating the VNA on its recentachievements, Montsame General Director Ganchimeg Badamdorj also expressed herwish to reinforce cooperation between the two sides.
Both general directors shared the view that theVNA and Montsame need to boost exchanging information about their countries’economy, trade, investment and tourism so that Vietnamese and Mongolianbusinessmen and people will have better mutual understanding and expandeconomic partnerships.
Founded in 1921, the Montsame News Agency is oneof the oldest communications organisations of Mongolia. It has 108 staffmembers, reporters and editors, 20 bureaus across Mongolia, and two bureaus inRussia’s Moscow and China’s Beijing.-
The VNA boasts a network of 63 bureaus in all the cities and provincesnationwide and 30 overseas bureaus across the five continents.
With more than 60 media products by more than 1,000 reporters andeditors out of its 2,400-strong staff, the VNA is now the media office havingthe largest number of products and forms in the country: bulletins, photos,television programmes, dailies, weeklies, monthlies, magazines, pictorials,books, TV channel, e-newspapers and information programmes on mobile platforms.
The agency also delivers news in the largest number of languages. Inaddition to official Vietnamese-language news provided for domestic and foreignmedia outlets, stories for foreign service are written in English, Chinese,French and Spanish, not to mention print and e-newspapers in four other foreignlanguages, namely Lao, Korean, Japanese and Russian.-VNA
