Hanoi (VNA)༒ – The Vietnam – Malaysia – Thailand artist exhibition and exchange was opened at the Centre for Fine Arts and Photography in 29 Hang Bai Street, Hanoi on December 26.

The exhibition, organized for the first time by the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, is among fine arts exchange activities in the region to celebrate the establishment of the ASEAN Community at the end of this month. It is set to become an annual event.
The event features 36 artworks by nine representative contemporary artists from Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand with different styles and multi-dimensional perspectives on the life, people and signature landscapes of each country. Speaking at the opening ceremony, head of the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition Vi Kien Thanh said Vietnam is working to ramp up arts exchange and international collaboration projects with regional countries in the hope of deepening mutual understanding between artists from ASEAN member states.
The department plans to hold an exhibition on photography and graphic design between ten ASEAN member states and another on Vietnam’s heritage photos in the Republic of Korea alongside the second Vietnam – Malaysia – Thailand artist exhibition and exchange next year, he added. The nine artists will go on a field trip in the resort town of Sapa in northern Lao Cai province on the occasion. The exhibition runs through January 2, 2016.-VNA
