This was stated by the chairman of Ho Chi MinhCity’s Vietnam-Malaysia Friendship Organisation Le Thanh Tam and theMalaysian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Khairi Bin Omar, at ameeting to mark Malaysia’s 53 rd National Day on August 30.

Malaysia is one of Vietnam’s leading investors in construction, powerstations, water supplies, gas, mechanical engineering and banking.Two-way trade between the two countries reached over 4 billion USD lastyear.

Both parties said that the visits by theleaders of both countries underline their determination to further theirgood relationship and cooperation for their mutual benefit, which willhelp to ensure a peaceful, stable and prosperous Southeast Asia.

Tam said he hoped that Malaysia will continue to foster its friendshiprelationship with Vietnam and help with the regions’ development./.
