State President Luong Cuong described the inauguration wharf No.3 at Vung Ang port in the central province of Ha Tinh as a significant political and diplomatic milestone, demonstrating the two countries’ determination to strengthen connectivity and promote their development cooperation.
President Cuong emphasised that every victory in the past struggle for national liberation as well as in the current cause of building and defending the Fatherland of Vietnam has seen the valuable support, wholehearted, righteous and effective assistance of the Party, State and people of the Lao ethnic groups, and expressed the deep gratitude of the Vietnamese Party, State and people to their Lao counterparts.
The Lao National Assembly building, a gift from the Vietnamese Party, State and people to the Lao sides, is billed as a symbol of the great friendship between the two nations.
A ceremony to rebury the remains of 18 Vietnamese voluntary soldiers and experts who lost their lives during wartime in Laos took place in Dong Tam international martyrs’ cemetery, the central province of Thanh Hoa on May 14.
