Vietnam-Laos cultural exchange helps boost ties

A Vietnam-Laos special cultural exchange programme was held at the Lao National Cultural Palace on Jan. 15 to celebrate the 35 th anniversary of the two countries’ friendship associations (Jan. 15).
A Vietnam-Laos special culturalexchange programme was held at the Lao National Cultural Palace on Jan.15 to celebrate the 35 th anniversary of the two countries’ friendshipassociations (Jan. 15).

Themed “Viet-Laos in my heart”, the art performance highlighted the twocountries’ cultural identities and their special friendship.

The event was an opportunity for both countries’ youth to betterunderstand their traditional relationship, showing the both sides’determination to foster, build and develop bilateral the ties.

Addressing the event, Lao Vice State President Bounnhang Volachithailed achievements of the two countries’ friendship associations overthe past 35 years, saying they serve as bridges to promote thegovernmental and private agencies’ as well as the two people’scomprehensive cooperation, contributing to sustainable development ofthe Vietnam-Laos special friendship.

Also present at the function, Vietnamese Vice State President NguyenThi Doan expressed the Vietnamese Party, State and people’s thanks forsupport and assistance of the Lao Party, State and people in thestruggle for national liberation, defence and construction.

The event was jointly organised by the Vietnam Union of FriendshipOrganisations and the Vietnam-Laos friendship association together withseveral Vietnamese and Lao agencies and organisations./.

♛ Vietnam re-elected to 2005 UNESCO Convention’s Intergovernmental Committee

This is the first time since the adoption of the Convention that a country has served two consecutive terms on the Committee.
