Vietnam-Japan youth exchange comes to a close

A youth exchange programme between Vietnam and Japan was concluded on September 10 after a number of joint events.

The programme, organised by the southern province of Binh Phuoc,in collaboration with Lotus University ( Ho Chi Minh City ) and theAsia Association of Education and Exchange, aimed to strengthensustainable development and facilitate cultural exchange betweenVietnam and Japan.

During the five-day event, 18 youthdelegates from Japan lived with five Vietnamese families in Dong Xoaitown, visited outstanding youth-run farms to learn about effectiveagricultural models, and met with the province’s Association of YoungEntrepreneurs.

Moreover, they participated in a number ofrecreational activities with local residents, visited the historicalsite of Ta Thiet, and gave gifts worth 9 million VND (450 USD) to 70exceptional Vietnamese students from disadvantaged families.

Theexchange group also visited Tan Phu Elementary School and QuangTrung High School and introduced students to green technologies.

This year’s Vietnam-Japan youth exchange programme celebrated 41 years of diplomatic ties between the two countries.-VNA

According to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society (VRC), this year’s campaign provided long-term aid for 3,785 individuals and organisations.
