Vietnam, Japan students discuss scientific research

The fifth scientific exchange seminar between Vietnamese and Japanese students was held in Tokyo on October 10.
The fifth scientific exchange seminar between Vietnamese andJapanese students was held in Tokyo on October 10.

The seminar, organised by the Vietnamese Youth and Student Association(VYSA), aimed at creating knowledge exchanges between the twocountries’ students and promoting Vietnamese-Japan academic exchangerelations.

Vietnamese ambassador to Japan Nguyen Phu Binh, President ofJapan-Vietnam Friendship Association (JVFA) Motoo Furuta, professorsand researchers of the two countries joined around 300 outstandingoverseas Vietnamese students in Japan at the event.

Addressing the seminar’s opening ceremony, Ambassador Binh spoke highlyof overseas Vietnamese students’ contributions to building anddeveloping their country over the past years. He expressed his pleasureat their excellent achievements in study and research in Japan .

The Ambassador suggested that the students promote their solidarity andcooperation in work, study and scientific research so as to make morecontributions to the country and community.

For his part, the JVFA President said the Japan Education Associationand Japanese universities are willing to create favourable conditionsfor Vietnamese students to study and do researches in Japan .

This year’s seminar had nearly 100 speeches of students from Vietnam ,Japan , Thailand , Canada and the Republic of Korea .

On this occasion, overseas Vietnamese students also donated 100,000 YEN(over 1,000 USD) to support victims of the recent Ketsana typhoon inVietnam ’s central provinces./.
