Tel Aviv (VNA)🅺 – Vietnam and Israel should considerscience-technology and high-tech agriculture as priority areas for cooperation,Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang told Israeli Prime Minister BenjaminNetanyahu during their talks on July 25.
At the talks – part of Quang’s official visit to Israel fromJuly 23-25, the Deputy PM affirmed that Vietnam encourages and will create favourableconditions for Israeli businesses.
𒉰 Netanyahu welcomed and spoke highly of the significance of Quang's visit, especially as the twocountries are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of theirdiplomatic relations.
He expressed his impression of Vietnam'ssocio-economic development achievements, affirming that the country is an importantpartner of Israel. He said that with complementary advantages, the two sideshave great potential to strengthen cooperation in all fields, especially inscience-technology and start-ups, innovation, high-tech agriculture, watertreatment technology, and medicine. Deputy PM Quang affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance tofriendship and multifaceted cooperation with Israel, and conveyed an invitation from PrimeMinister Pham Minh Chinh to Netanyahu to visitVietnam soon. For his part, Netanyahu accepted the invitation,expressed his hope to soon pay an official visit to Vietnam, and also invited Chinh to pay an official visit toIsrael soon.

During the talks, the two sides agreed to jointly promote the friendship andcooperation between Vietnam and Israel through measures such as increasing theexchange of delegations at all levels; coordinate and support each other atinternational forums and organisations; promote the exchange of businessdelegations; organise trade and investment promotion activities; effectivelyexploit the newly-signed Vietnam - Israel Free Trade Agreement; and consider the opening of direct flights between the two countries at an early date. Before the talks, witnessed the signing ceremony of the Vietnam - Israel Free TradeAgreement. The same day, Quang met Israeli PresidentIsaac Herzog and receivedrepresentatives of Israeli businesses.
