Hanoi (VNA)🍎 – Diplomatic corps and international organisation representatives are invited to attend the opening and closing sessions of the 12th National Party Congress slated for January 2016 in Hanoi.

The Congress will see the attendance of over 1,500 delegates representing more than 4.5 million members of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), Chairman of the CPV Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations Hoang Binh Quan said when briefing the foreign guests about the preparations of the congress in the capital on December 22.
He said the 11th Party Central Committee at its freshly concluded 13 th meeting has decided to convene the 12 th National Party Congress in Hanoi from January 20-28, 2016, with a view to strengthening the building of the strong and transparent Party and promoting the great national unity and socialist democracy. The congress also looks to push the “Doi Moi” reform ahead in an inclusive and synchronous manner while securing national defence and peaceful environment and developing Vietnam into a modern industrialised society, he added.
He noted that draft documents to be submitted to the 12th congress received high consensus from the Party members as well as people from all walks of life, including overseas Vietnamese. Candidates who are politically firm, morally qualified and practically competent will be selected for the 12th Party Central Committee, he said. He added the CPV has external relations with 228 parties from 112 countries, which have substantially contributed to enhancing Vietnam’s diplomatic ties with global partners.-VNA
