Vietnam int’l fashion week to gather famous local, global designers

The Aquafina Vietnam International Fashion Week Fall Winter 2019 is set to kick off from October 28 to 31, drawing the participation of well-known local and international fashion designers.

Hanoi (VNA) – 𒈔The Aquafina Vietnam International Fashion Week Fall Winter 2019 is set to kick off from October 28 to 31, drawing the participation of well-known local and international fashion designers.

The Aquafina Vietnam International Fashion Week Fall Winter 2019 will witness the return of some world-famous fashion designers, notably Frederick Lee of Singapore, Kit Woo of Malaysia, along with brands exclusively distributed in Vietnam like Weill and new faces in the international fashion design industry from the Fashion Design Institut of Germany.

Famous Singaporean designer Frederick Lee

Fashion designer Frederick Lee has become a regular guest of the Vietnam International Fashion Week. Specialised in haute couture, the Singaporean designer was dubbed as the “godfather of couture fashion” or “the designer of top stars”. His designs not only rev up the runway but also are worn by many famous Asian stars like Li Si Qi, Susanna Kwan and Nancy Sit Ka Yin, among others, in various events.

Known for his exotic designs that go beyond imagination, Frederick Lee always finds his way to surprise his audience in each event. At the Vietnam International Fashion Week Fall Winter 2019, the designer is expected to introduce his impressive and versatile designs at the event marking the 10th anniversary of the event.

Designer Kit Woo of Malaysia

Kit Woo is among potential names of the fashion industry of Malaysia in particular and Asia in general. Introducing himself as a “layman”, the young Malaysian designer previously had no connection with the fashion industry. He was inspired by the movie “The Devil Wears Prada when he was a high school student. As he got into the fashion industry so naturally, Kit Woo continues his career and conquers various awards such as being the runner-up of the Cotton Incorporated Design Competition and winning the prestigious CFDA scholarship in 2014.

Kit Woo once impressed audience at the Vietnam International Fashion Week Spring Summer 2019 with his collection titled “Refraction”, inspired from works by Brazilian sculpture Lucas Simoes. “Refraction” catches up trends of the world’s fashion industry with contemporary designs and androgynous beauty. In addition, Kit Woo was an assistant of designer Zang Toi at the New York Fashion Week. It seems that fashion is a mirror reflecting his personality, a person who worships art and beauty.

Weill – one of the oldest fashion brands in France

♔Established in 1892, Weill is among oldest fashion brands in France. In over the last century, Weill has gone under spectacular change from being just a small studio at Rue d' Aboukir boulevard in Paris, with a mission to enhance women’s elegance. At present, the family outfit brand has reached out to many countries and territories worldwide.

In Vietnam, Weill is chosen by many businesswomen thanks to its refinement and elegance. Weill Creative Director Mathilde Castello Branco described Weill’s customers bear a resemblance to Parisian ladies, who could be spotted by the dreamlike Seine River or coffee shops in Saint-Germain-des-Près area. Returning to the Vietnam International Fashion Week Fall Winter 2019, a representative of Weill said the brand will introduce images of Paris in the 1960s to Vietnamese fashion lovers.

Potential designers from Germany’s Fashion Design Institut

Sarah Moussoui is one of the four designers of Germany’s Fashion Design Institut to introduce her latest collection to Vietnam next week. Moussoui’s haute couture collection this time carries a message dedicated to women, as each woman can be the ruler of her world.

Meanwhile, Phuong Mai Nguyen holds huge potential as she spares no efforts in creating new designs and is always filled with a passion to introduce the country’s history through her designs. The two others designers from the German institute include Seyit Todogan and Sirilak Majaroen, whose designs have been introduced in major fashion magazines and events in France./.
