Vietnam, India step up support for startups

New Delhi (VNA) – Vietnam and India are strengthening ♋support for startups, with the first-ever🍸 Vietnam-India Startup Workshop held in New Delhi on April 2.

Jointly organised by the Vietnamese Embassy in India and the the I-Hub Foundation for Cobotics (IHFC) under the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi), the event brought together government officials, industry leaders, and startup representatives from both countries. Vietnamese Ambassador to India Nguyen Thanh Hai highlighted the workshop as a key step in realising agreements from Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s visit to India last year, where the two sides committed to boosting collaboration in technology and startups. He emphasised the potential for Vietnam and India to become regional leaders in the digital age, leveraging their skilled workforces and supportive policies.
Do Quoc Hung, Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Market Development under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, underscored the nations’ economic and innovation progress, stressing the workshop’s role in fostering breakthrough projects in areas such as AI, e-commerce, and digital finance.
Indian representatives shared insights on fostering startup talent through education and international exchanges, calling for deeper bilateral cooperation in science, technology, and innovation. The event concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between IHFC and the Vietnam Business Association to develop a joint startup ecosystem, supporting entrepreneurs and enhancing human resource capabilities./.
