A delegation led by Prosecutor General of the Supreme People’s ProcuracyNguyen Hoa Binh paid a working visit to Hungary from April 20-23 topromote cooperation between the two countries’ procuracy sectors.
During his meeting with the delegation on April 22, Hungarian DeputyPrime Minister Zsolt Semjen stressed that his country will focus onforging procuracy links with Vietnam.
He hailed theresults of working sessions between Vietnamese delegates with leaders ofHungary’s supreme Procuracy and Court, adding that his country iswilling to support Vietnam in training judicial staff.
Previously,Prosecutor General Binh held talks with his Hungarian counterpart PeterPolt and President of Hungary’s Supreme Court Peter Darak, during whichthey shared experiences in fighting hi-tech and financial crimes andprotecting human rights.
The Vietnamese official said Vietnam wants to learn from and apply successful studies conducted by Hungary’s Supreme Procuracy.
Accordingto Binh, the two sides discussed and reached agreements related topersonnel training, especially those in the judiciary branch. TheHungarian government also agreed to increase the number of scholarshipsfor Vietnamese students to study in the country.
During theirstay, the Vietnamese delegation also paid a courtesy visit to ViceSpeaker of the National Assembly of Hungary Janos Latorcal. The hostsaid he hopes Vietnam will serve as a bridge linking Hungary with otherASEAN member nations.
He also expressed his desire that Hungaryand Vietnam would support one another in international forums andorganisations such as the International Parliamentary Union (IPU) andthe Asia-Europe Parliamentary Partnership (ASEP).-VNA
