The construction of a high school in Luang Namtha town in the Lao province of Luang Namtha started on December 14.
Theproject with a total investment of 86 billion VND, mostly fromVietnamese non-refundable aid, is being carried out by Vietnam’snorthern province of Vinh Phuc. Luang Namtha province contributed 10billion VND.
The new 3-ha school will have a four storey buildingwith 40 classrooms for 2,000 students, an assembly room, a two storeyoffice building and a library.
Addressing the ground-breakingceremony, Luang Namtha province’s Deputy Governor Phanthong Phutthammaexpressed his thanks to the Vietnamese Party, Government, people and theprovince of Vinh Phuc for their help to build hospital, cultural palaceand schools, which have contributed greatly to the province’ssocio-economic development.
The school project is expected to be completed by August 2012./.
