– A training course on military history research for officers ofthe Lao People’s Army opened at the Vietnam Institute of Military History (VIMH)on June 24.

Accordingto Major General Nguyen Hoang Nhien, Director of the VIMH, this is the eighthtraining course of its kind organised by the institute.

Themonth-long course will equip 25 Lao officers with basic knowledge, methods andexperience in military history research and war review, he said.

Earlierthis year, the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence launched a project tohelp Laos upgrade the Lao Military History Museum.

The project costs nearly 37 billion VND (about1.6 million USD) is scheduled to complete in September this year.-VNA
