A training course on professional skills for journalists and reporters of centrally-run press agencies and localities of Laos opened in the capital city of Vientiane on April 2.

Vientiane (VNA) – Atraining course on professional skills for journalists and reporters of centrally-runpress agencies and localities of Laos opened in the capital city of Vientianeon April 2. 

Co-organised by the VietnameseMinistry of Information and Communications (MIC) and the Lao Ministry of Information,Culture and Tourism, the opening ceremony saw the participation of DeputyDirector of the MIC’s Press Department Nguyen Thai Phien, Director of the LaoInstitute of Mass Media, Culture and Tourism Vilaythong Sisanonh, Vietnamesepress lecturers and Lao journalists and reporters.

Themed “Skills of illustratinginformation via images for newswires”, the five-day course will offer 42 Laojournalists and reporters an insight into how to make photo and infographicnews, helping readers fully understand contents in the fastest way.

Since 2012, the MIC’s Press Department has held 20 trainingcourses with different topics for nearly 600 Lao reporters and editors.-VNA
