Vientiane (VNA) – The Vietnam-funded headquarters of the Lao militaryart troupe was handed over to the Lao military in Vientiane on April 10.
The construction is billed as a gift from the Vietnamese Ministry of Defence tothe Lao People’s Army on the occasion of 70th anniversary of the Laoarmy and 50th birthday of its art troupe.
The five-storey building was constructed on an area of over 3,000 square metresat a total investment of nearly 6 million USD, 5.5 million USD of which wasprovided by Vietnam and the remainder came from Laos’ corresponding fund.
Speaking at the hand-over ceremony, deputy head of the General Department ofPolitics under the Lao People’s Army Sonethong Phomlavong thanked theVietnamese Ministry of Defence for its support, affirming that the constructionis a vivid illustration for the solidarity between the two ministries.
He stressed that it will make significant contributions to nurturing the specialfriendship between the two Parties, States and armies.-VNA
