Vietnam, France sign science-technology cooperation deal

The Vietnam Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics (VIASM) and the French Research Institute for Development (IRD) have signed a science-technology cooperation agreement.

Hanoi (VNA) – Th♋e Vietnam Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics (VIASM) and the French Research Institute for Development (IRD) have signed a science-technology cooperation agreement during French President Francois Hollande’s State visit from September 5-7.

The agreement, valid for four years since the signing date, aims to lay out a framework agenda for dialogues and information sharing, research and training supervision.
Both sides will establish labs to popularise research results and promote technology transfer.
They will offer training and improve capacity building of researchers and students, introduce candidates to the international PhD course on modeling complex system offered by IRD and Paris 6 University. They will also join events to promote studies and raise donations regionally and globally.-VNA

PM calls for cooperation with Sweden in nuclear energyꩵ technology

The PM revealed Vietnam’s plan to develop nuclear power in the near future, and called on the Swedish side to assist Vietnam in developing and refining legal and policy frameworks for the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes; training and developing human resources; ensuring nuclear safety; and conducting training and drills to improve incident management capabilities.
