Vietnam Festival in Kanagawa 2017 to lure 400,000 vistors

Tokyo (VNA) – The Vietnam Festivalin Japan’s Kanagawa Prefecture (Vietnam Festa) is scheduled to take place inYokohama city from September 15 to 17, as heard at a local press conference onJuly 19.

Speaking at the event, VietnameseAmbassador to Japan Nguyen Quoc Cuong praised Kanagawa governor Kuroiwa Yuji’sidea to organise the festival on an annual basis to boost cultural and economicexchange.

Themed “FEEL Vietnam”, the 2017 VietnamFesta aims to attract more than 400,000 visitors, an ambitious number thatsurpasses its 2015 record.

The festival will feature a host ofcultural activities, including water puppetry performance, musical concerts,talks about Vietnam and the display of Vietnamese flower paintings andlanterns.

The organising board said it will also makeSeptember the Vietnam month in Kanagawa for further promotion events apart fromthe Vietnam Festa.

Established in 2015, the Vietnam Festa isthe biggest Vietnamese festival in Japan jointly held by the Vietnam Embassyand Kanagawa prefecture.-VNA

𒁃 Vietnam re-elected to 2005 UNESCO Convention’s Intergovernmental Committee
