Beijing (VNA) – Representatives from theVietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) and the National Committee ofthe Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC)’s chapterin Chongqing city discussed ways to further enhance cooperation between the twosides at their meeting on December 19.
The meeting in the Chinese city was part of the on-going working visit of the VFFVice President and General Secretary Tran Thanh Man to China from December19-23.
Man briefed the host on the Vietnamese front’s functions, saying that the VFFwishes to learn from experience of the CPPCC’s Chongqing chapter inanti-corruption and supervision work, especially in agriculture, urbandevelopment, environmental protection, and food safety, and experience indeploying movements to promote creativity in the community.
He also congratulated the Chinese city on its prominent socio-economicachievements in the first six months this year, adding that Vietnam opened atrade promotion office in Chongqing as it has great potential for tourism development,trade and service.
He called for more enterprises from the Chinese city to invest Vietnam, thuscontributing to the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
For his part, the Chairman of the CPPCC’s Chongqing city chapter, XuJingye, highlighted the enhanced cooperation between Vietnamese ministries,sectors and localities with the city, and appreciated Vietnam’s stable economicgrowth in recent years.
Chongqing wants to boost links with Vietnamese localities in trade andinvestment, and exchange with Vietnam’s ministries and sectors in the comingtime, he said.
The two sides focused on sharing experience in the fields of their common concern,contributing to strengthening cooperation between the VFF and the CPPCC inparticular, and promoting Vietnam-China relations in general.
