Hanoi (VNA) – Bilateral tradebetween Vietnamese localities and Guangdong province of China reach 17 billionUSD in 2016, up 2.9 percent compared to 2015, it was reported at a conferenceheld in Hanoi on July 19.

The conference is a regular event to reviewcooperation between ministries, sectors and localities of Vietnam and Guangdongprovince.

Address the event, Deputy Foreign MinisterLe Hoai Trung stressed the Vietnamese Party and Government’s policy to enhancewin-win collaboration with China in general and with Guangdong province inparticular.

He called on the two sides to maintain exchange of all-level visits to promote mutualunderstanding and trust; make the best use of cooperation mechanisms among theiragencies; and boost links in economic-trade, investment, transport,agriculture, culture, education, and tourism.

The Deputy FM asked Guangdong to make it easier for Vietnamese goods, especiallyagro-forestry-aquaculture products; dairy products; and processed fruits to enterthe Guangdong market, contributing to more balanced trade between the twocountries.

For his part, Vice Governor of Guangdong Lin Shao Chun affirmed Guangdong is willingto work with the Vietnamese side in implementing cooperative programmes signed betweenthe two sides, towards stepping up the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategiccooperation.

The Chinese locality hoped Vietnam’s agencies will consider preferentialpolicies for the construction of An Duong industrial park in the northern portcity of Hai Phong.-VNA
