Vietnam eyes promoting friendship, multifaceted cooperation with Morocco: NA Chairman

Hanoi (VNA) – National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man on June 21 affirmed that Vietnam always values and wants to promote the relations friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Morocco, as he received Najib El-Khadi, Secretary-General of Morocco’s House of Representatives and President of the Association of Secretaries General of Parliaments (ASGP).
Man emphasised parliamentary cooperation is an effective cooperation channel between the two countries. Their parliaments have maintained delegation exchanges, high-level meetings, and close cooperation; and supported each other at world and regional multilateral inter-parliamentary forums.
The Vietnamese top legislator proposed that the two sides review and continue to effectively implement the cooperation agreement signed in 2017; deepen parliamentary relations; and increase delegation exchanges at all levels and parliamentary friendship groups.
He also called for further parliamentary experiences sharing between the two parliaments, and support to each other at multilateral forums.
For his part, the Moroccan official congratulated Man on his election as Vietnam's NA Chairman.
He also congratulated the Vietnamese NA on its important achievements, particularly its innovations in operating and organising the NA such as the application of modern information technology in data storage.
According to the legislator, Vietnam and Morocco shared similarities in national construction and development. Particularly, the two sides have been paying attention and attaching importance to promoting the South-South cooperation.
Informing the host of Morocco's recent socio-economic development, Najib El Khadi emphasised that both Vietnam and Morocco are together on the path of development, adding both countries have strength to tighten the bilateral symbolic relationship.
On this occasion, Man thanked the President of the House of Councillors and the President of the House of Representatives of Morocco for congratulating him on his election, and invited them to visit Vietnam soon.

Secretary of the Party Central Committee and head of the committee's Commission for Information and Education Nguyen Trong Nghia made a working trip to Morocco from May 29 – June 3, which was met with enthusiasm from the host officials.
