Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – Representatives of the VietnamEmbassy in Malaysia made a consular visit of Doan Thi Huong, a suspect in thedeath of Democratic People’s Republic of Korean citizen Kim Chol, at the Kajangprison on March 29.
One of the two lawyers arranged for Huong, lawyerHisyam Teh Toh Teik was also present during the visit.
With the agreement of Huong and her family and assistancefrom the Vietnam Embassy and the Vietnam Bar Federation, lawyers Hisyam Teh TohTeik and Naran Singh have been arranged to defend the suspect at court.
Hisyam Teh Toh Teik is said to be one of the bestMalaysian lawyer on penal code, while Naran Singh is also an experienced practitionerin the field.
Both lawyers said they attach importance to the caseand would make serious efforts to ensure legal aid to Huong.
At the consular visit, Huong said she was in goodhealth and affirmed her willingness to cooperate with the lawyers.
