Vietnam Embassy in Indonesia congratulates Laos on Bunpimay festival
A delegation from the Vietnamese Embassy and representative agencies in Indonesia led by Ambassador Ta Van Thong visited the Embassy of Laos in Jakarta on April 11 on the occasion of Laos’s traditional New Year festival (Bunpimay).

The diplomat conveyed his best wishes to Lao Ambassador toIndonesia Phomma Sidsena and his staff on the occasion, and expressed his belief that the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries will increase, including the contribution of the Vietnamese and Lao embassies in Indonesia through various exchanges and collaboration activities. The Vietnamese Ambassador took the occasion to review the cooperation andcoordination activities between the two embassies over the years,especially those to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomaticties and 45 years of signing the Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Friendship andCooperation. For his part, Sidsena thanked the Vietnamese Embassydelegation for the meaningful wishes on the occasion of the traditional newyear festival, and shared the country's achievements as well as Laos-Vietnamrelations over the past time. He emphasised that the fact that President Vo Van Thuong has chosen Laos as the destination for his first foreign trip since assuming his newposition and just before the traditional Bunpimay reflects the special relationshipbetween the two countries. With the COVID-19 pandemic under control and the resumption of direct flights, the Lao Ambassador hopes thatpeople-to-people exchange activities between the two countries as well asbetween the two embassies will continue to be enhanced, contributing topromoting closer ties between Laos and Vietnam./.
State President Vo Van Thuong will pay an official visit to Laos from April 10-11 at the invitation of General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith.

The country is willing to participate in collective efforts to promote cooperation and mobilise resources to advance the current priority issues of developing countries, such as trade, investment, infrastructure connectivity, making the most of scientific and technological advances for development, and people-to-people exchanges, Hang said.
During the negotiations, the US highly evaluated Vietnam’s goodwill and efforts, affirmed its appreciation for the bilateral relationship, acknowledged Vietnam’s proposals and concerns, and considered these an important basis for continuing discussions and moving towards a final agreement.
The Chairman stressed the need for stricter fiscal discipline, faster digital transformation, and more efficient management of State budget revenues and expenditures.
The ministry has instructed Vietnamese representative agencies in Israel, Iran, as well as those in neighbouring countries, to closely monitor the situation and request local authorities to ensure absolute safety for Vietnamese citizens living, studying, and working in high-risk areas.
