Hanoi (VNS/VNA) - Vietnam has claimed a bronze medal at the 15thAsian Airgun Championship in Daegu, the Republic of Korea.
The trio of Phan Xuan Chuyen, Phan Cong Minh and Lai Cong Minh finished thirdin the men's team 10m air pistol event at Daegu International Shooting Range.
Indian marksmen took the gold while the host athletes secured the silver.
Vietnam sent a team of six athletes and two coaches to the tournament, which closedon November 19.
They competed in the women's individual air rifle and men's individual and teamair pistol events.
This is the first championship that will be counted towards the new AsianRanking System.
The Vietnamese athletes will next take part in the Southeast Asian championshipfrom December 1-10 in Thailand./.
Vietnam’s shooting team has left for India to take part in the 2021 International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup (Rifle/Pistol/Shotgun), which is scheduled to take place in New Delhi from March 18 to 29.
Phi Thanh Thao won the women’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions on May 20, securing the fifth gold medal for the Vietnamese shooting team at the ongoing SEA Games 31.
