Vietnam and Denmark have reached a memorandum of understanding (MoU) onenergy conservation and renewable energy industries, spanning fivepriority fields across 10 cooperative forms.
Signed by the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade and the DanishMinistry of Energy, Building and Climate in Hanoi on June 18, the MoUhighlighted the agenda for developing legal frameworks on the effectiveand economical use of energy in Vietnam, especially at small andmedium-size enterprises.
Other priorities aregiven to developing new projects regarding the realisation of theNational Target Programme on Energy Conservation and Efficient Use inVietnam and the Green Growth strategy, among others.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry andTrade Cao Quoc Hung said the MoU will help boost cooperation between thetwo ministries in the field.
While echoing theVietnamese official on the significance of the document, DanishAmbassador to Vietnam John Nielsen also highlighted the future energydemand in Vietnam, especially in industry area.
He suggested taking sustainable approaches to increasing the use ofrenewable and clean energies towards shaping a green economy.

The countries have initiated long-term dialogues on low carbonemission and funded the National Target Programme on Energy Conservationand Efficient Use in Vietnam , aiming to reduce energy consumption inVietnam by 5-8 percent.-VNA
