Vietnam, Cambodia build common border of peace, friendship: Spokeswoman
The completion of land border demarcation and marker planting between Vietnam and Cambodia to build a common borderline of peace, friendship and sustainable development has long been the legitimate aspirations of the two countries' people, Spokeswoman of the Foreign Ministry Le Thi Thu Hang affirmed on May 26.

Hanoi (VNA) – The completion of land borderdemarcation and marker planting between Vietnam and Cambodia to build a common borderline of peace, friendship and sustainable development has long been the legitimateaspirations of the two countries' people, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Le Thi Thu Hang affirmed on May 26.
In that spirit, over the past years, Vietnam andCambodia have closely cooperated with each other and completed the demarcation and marker planting on 1,045km of their borderline, equivalent to around 84 percent of the total length, the spokeswoman said at a regular pressconference held by the ministry.
She emphasised that the result is of extreme importance asit contributes to facilitating the travel, trade and friendship exchangesbetween the two nations' people, as well as socio-economic development in each country.
The two sides are negotiating to fulfill the border demarcation andmarker planting for the remaining section, Hang said./.
The fifth Vietnam-Cambodia Defence Policy Dialogue at the deputy ministerial level was held at the Hoa Lu International Border Gate's border station in the southern province of Binh Phuoc on May 14.
Vietnam and Cambodia held the first border defence exchange in the border areas of Loc Ninh district of the former’s Binh Phuoc province and Snuol district of the latter’s Kratie province on May 15.
Vietnamese Minister of National Defence Gen. Phan Van Giang held a reception for visiting Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Tea Banh in Hanoi on May 23.
The trip will be made at the invitations of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and WEF President and CEO Børge Brende, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
