Vietnam-Brazil trade exceeds 2 billion USD

Two-way trade between Vietnam and Brazil hit a record 2.33 billion USD in 2013.
Two-way trade between Vietnam and Brazil hit a record 2.33 billion USDin 2013, representing a year-on-year rise of 42.3 percent.

According to the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and ForeignTrade, Vietnam exported 1.14 billion USD worth of goods to Brazil whileimporting commodities worth 1.19 billion USD to the Latin Americancountry, up 39.6 and 45 percent respectively.

Vietnam mainlyshipped phone appliances, footwear, frozen fillets, printers, yarn andrubber to Brazil. Its major import items from the country includedsoybean, maize, cotton, iron, steel and tobacco.

Theministry said trade between the two countries has constantly increasedsince 2000, from over 109 million USD in 2005 to more than 1 billion USDin 2011.-VNA
