Bac Ninh (VNA) – The Vietnam Book andReading Culture Day opened i🦋n Bac Ninh꧙ city of the northern province of the same name on April 12.
Director of the provincial Information andCommunications department Nguyen Trung Hieu emphasized that the event, under theme “Good books need readers”, honours the value of books and aims to develop a substantial readingmovement in the community. Besides, it is a rendezvous for bookpublishers and readers to meet and exchange ideas in the field of publishing anddistribution. The three-day event attracts the participation of 40booths with 100,000 book titles and nearly 2 million copies registered to displayat the event. Event-goers will also have a chance to take part in severalactivities such as book giving, talks, book exchanges with famous speakers, artperformances, and folk games. Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang attended the opening of the second Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day, themed "Books: Awareness - Innovation - Creativity", in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue on April 21.
A book festival was held in Moscow on May 1 in response to the Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day (April 21), giving a chance for the Vietnamese community in Russia to meet, exchange books and promote the reading culture.
The 2024 Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day will take place from April 15 to May 1, with digital transformation to be boosted to bring books to more readers, according to the Ministry of Information and Communications.
A series of activities with various messages will be organised until May 1 to celebrate the Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2024, heard a press conference hosted by the Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) on April 8.
The Vietnamese team will gather on June 26 in Ba Ria-Vung Tau, where they will train until July 14 before departing for Indonesia for the ASEAN U23 Championship 2025, which runs from July 15 to 29. Vietnam will face Laos on July 19 and Cambodia on July 22 in the group stage.
The exhibition showcases more than 100 valuable documents and artifacts, divided into two main parts: “Journalist Nguyen Ai Quoc – Ho Chi Minh” and “President Ho Chi Minh – Founder and Mentor of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press.” This is an opportunity to recall the late leader’s journalism journey and affirm his exceptional role in founding and guiding the revolutionary press in Vietnam.
For the first time, the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) has granted Vietnam hosting rights for the two championships, including the Asian women’s solo category, which debuts this year as an officially recognised event.

The U23 competition will run from June 16 to 22, followed by the U17 event from June 23 to 28, while athletes competing in the U23 category will undergo weight and skill checks ahead of the matches starting June 18, while similar checks for U17 athletes will take place before June 23.
Vietnam continues to sit just behind continental powerhouses Japan, the Republic of Korea, Australia, China, and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).
